Goodell: NFL could eliminate Pro Bowl (AP)

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says he is disappointed in the quality of last week's Pro Bowl and changes must be considered, perhaps even dropping the game altogether. Manningham emerged from the shadow of Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz with a catch that will rival David Tyree's Super Bowl helmet grab four years ago, helping the Giants knock off the New England Patriots 21-17 in the NFL championship game on Sunday.

The repeat performance was just as good as the first for New York Giants fans as they watched their team again beat the New England Patriots 21-17 Sunday in the Super Bowl. In Times Square, fans spilled out of the numerous sports bars in the area yelling "Giants! Giants! Giants!" As motorists drove by, some people yelled "Giants" out their windows and passers-by roared and waved

Sting of loss recalls 2008 for Pats fans (AP)

It was like 2008 all over again for disappointed Patriots fans who watched as their team lost Sunday to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl for the second time in five years. "We're really sad right now," said Molly Mackenzie of Boston, who was watching the game at a bar near Fenway Park with two friends.

Underwood wishes Pats well after release (AP)

Rodgers wins NFL MVP award in landslide (AP)

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won the 2011 Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player award in a landslide. Rodgers earned 48 votes to two for New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL. The Packers star is the first Green Bay player honored since Brett Favre concluded a run of three straight seasons as MVP in 1997.
